Add in some Moon and Sun charges, and a Twilight state, and you have Sciel. Using a Double-Bladed Scythe, Sciel deals a lot of damage while having access to various powerful skills that can enhance the party. Sciel’s Playstyle - Foretell¶
Sciel uses cards to apply Foretell to an enemy/enemies. This is represented by a card icon with a number on the card of the Foretell applied on it, above the enemy’s health bar. You can stack Foretell to a maximum of 10 stacks. Applying Foretell to an enemy will also generate Sun Charges. Sciel also has access to other skills that will consume the Foretell to amplify their damage or other effects, and these will generate Moon Charges.
When Sciel has both Sun and Moon Charges, she’ll enter a state called Twilight. This lasts two turns, and for those turns, she’ll gain the following effects:
- Increases damage dependent on the amount of charges (sun and moon) consumed.
- Doubles the amount of Foretell applied to enemies.
- Increases the Cap of Foretell to 20 stacks, further enhancing her skills.
As you can see, you want to build Foretell with skills such as Focused Foretell and Bad Omen, and then, when you have enough stacks (preferably 10), consume the Foretell stacks with skills such as Twilight Slash. The former will build Sun Charges and the latter will build Moon Charges. When you’ve gathered enough charges, using a skill that spends the Foretell stacks will consume the charges too, sending you into the Twilight State.
(1 of 2) Focused Foretell will place up to 5 Foretell stacks on an enemy, while also giving you a Sun Charge.
Focused Foretell will place up to 5 Foretell stacks on an enemy, while also giving you a Sun Charge. (left), The Foretell indicator will appear above the enemies’ health bar. You can also see that the card she uses for this has a Sun Icon on it. (right)
This is where you can really hurt the enemy due to the increased Foretell Cap. Later on, you’ll want to use Final Path (10 skill points) in this state to apply 20 stacks of Foretell to an enemy, and follow it up with Card Weaver if there is more than one enemy to spread it to the others. Now, use one of the skills that consumes the 20 stacks to deal devastating damage. This is just one way to play in her Twilight State, but there are other methods and skills to use within it.

Best Skills for Sciel¶
Sciel’s playstyle is all about placing stacks of Foretellon an enemy, which gives you a Sun Charge
. When you’ve reached the Cap of 10 (20 in Twilight
), you’ll want to consume the Foretell with a spender such as Twilight Slash. The spenders will give you a Moon Charge
, and if you have both a Sun and Moon Charge when you consume the Foretell, you’ll enter the Twilight state. This increases your damage by how many Charges (both Sun and Moon) were consumed when using your last spender.
In Twilight, you’ll also increase the Foretell Cap to 20 stacks, while also increasing the Cap to 20 stacks of Foretell. In Twilight, you’ll have two turns to maximize your damage before exiting the state. This can be extended by using the Twilight Dance skill. Now that you know how Sciel plays, let’s take a look at her best skills.
Sealed Fate¶
Sealed Fate deals high single-target damage, dealing 5-7 hits on the enemy. Each hit will deal a further 200% more damage if it consumes a Foretell for each attack. If you’re lucky enough to Critical Hit with one of these hits, it won’t consume the Foretell, but it’ll still give you the increased damage. This is one of the best skills for 90% of the game, where multi-hit attacks are better due to the restriction of an attack going past 9,999 damage. In Act 3, this skill falls off a bit, but it’s still good.
(1 of 2) Sealed Fate is a powerful multi-hit attack that consume Foretell to increase its damage by 200% per hit.
Sealed Fate is a powerful multi-hit attack that consume Foretell to increase its damage by 200% per hit. (left), Intervention lets you select an ally to play next while also giving them 4 AP. (right)
Intervention¶
Intervention is a fantastic party buff that allows the designated party member to take your turn while also giving them 4 AP. Using this skill is also a good way to build up Moon Charges, so your damage will be higher in the Twilight state later.
Fortune’s Fury¶
Another fantastic party buff is Fortune’s Fury. This will make the targeted ally deal double damage on their next turn. Using this skill will give you a Sun Charge.
Delaying Slash¶
Delaying Slash is a two-hit attack that consumes Foretell to increase the damage and delay the enemy’s turn. This is especially good against bosses with attacks that are difficult to parry or dodge. Using this skill will also give you a Moon Charge.
Twilight Dance¶
Twilight Dance is one of your big skills that is better used after you’ve built up stacks of Foretell in the Twilight state. It does 4 hits and extends the state for 1 turn. Using this skill gives you a Moon Charge.
(1 of 2) Twilight Dance is a multi-hit attack that puts you into the Twilight state. If you’re already in it, it’ll give you another turn of Twilight instead.
Twilight Dance is a multi-hit attack that puts you into the Twilight state. If you’re already in it, it’ll give you another turn of Twilight instead. (left), Final Path is a single hit attack that deals extreme dark damage while also applying 10 stacks of Foretell on the enemy. (right)
Final Path¶
Another big hitter is Final Path. This is best used when you first enter the Twilight state as it applies 10 Foretell, or 20 (Cap) in Twilight, while also dealing extreme dark damage. If that wasn’t enough, it can also Break enemies. Using this skill gives you a Sun Charge.
Best Weapons for Sciel¶
Weapon 1 | Weapon 2 | Weapon 3 |
---|---|---|
Blizzon | Moisson | Tisseron |
In terms of weapon damage, Blizzon will do the most. Although this doesn’t include the traits on the weapon, it is just what the weapon is capable of when fully maxed out. At level 4, provided you have a Moon Charge, this weapon will make it so that every Moon Skill will always be a Critical Hit, but to offset this, you’ll take double damage.
At level 10, you’ll obtain 25% increased damage for every Moon Charge you have at that current time. Finally, at level 20, your Base Attack will give you 1 Moon Charge. Blizzon is a very strong weapon, with its only downside being taking double damage, which could be considered a very big downside. Also, some may consider Blizzon’s weapon element being Ice, as a downside.
Next up is Moisson. Although its weapon damage isn’t as high as Blizzon’s, it’s still very high. Where this weapon shines is in its traits. At level 4, all your damage will be converted to dark damage when in Twilight. This is good because at level 10, all dark damage skills will be increased by 20%, including your Twilight damage. Finally, at level 20, you’ll either get the Shell buff during Moon, the Powerful buff during Sun, or the Rush buff during Twilight.
(1 of 3) Blizzon has the highest weapon damage in the game.
The last weapon for this list is Tisseron. This weapon doesn’t reach the same highs as Blizzon and Moisson, but it has good scaling from Agility and Defense, both important attributes that make up for it. Where this weapon shines is for Twilight builds. At level 4, you can extend Twilight for one turn when using a Moon Skill.
However, if you use a Sun Skill, you’ll gain 50% increased damage. Reaching level 10 will increase the duration of Twilight by another turn for free. Finally, at level 20, you’ll get another turn when entering the Twilight state. Although we consider these weapons the best, some other weapons will be better depending on how you play Sciel.
